Kalindi Bellach is an imaginative and inspired violist with a broad range of experience in classical music. She regularly volunteers her time to play the works of contemporary composers in the Boston area. In 2008 she performed in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, New York; Higginson Hall at Boston’s Symphony Hall; and New England Conservatory’s Jordan Hall. Highlights of recent performances include Malcolm Peyton’s Suite Nocturnale for solo viola and Philip Lasser’s Sonate, also for solo viola.

As an orchestral musician Kalindi has served as principal violist under conductors Guillermo Figueroa, John Page, Ludovic Morlot, Matthew Hazlewood, and Evans Haile. She has also performed in ensembles coached by Mai Motobuchi, Malcolm Peyton, Michael Gandolfi, Mohammed Fairouz, and John Heiss.

Kalindi has studied with David Holland of the Interlochen Arts Academy, Helen Kirklin of the Jacksonville Symphony, Basil Vendryes of Denver University’s Lamont School of Music, and Melinda Daetsch of the Hartt School of Music. She has played in master classes for Timothy Deighton, Karen Ritscher, and Heidi Castleman. Kalindi is currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in viola performance at New England Conservatory of Music and is a student of Martha Strongin Katz.
