William Short
bassoon
William Short, a native of Austin, Texas, is currently second bassoon with Symphony in C (formerly the Haddonfield Symphony), a finalist for the New World Symphony, and has performed as a substitute with the Austin Symphony and Philadelphia Orchestra. His performances have been featured on NPR's Performance Today and Philadelphia's WHYY television station, and he has recorded for the Contemporary Record Society.
William currently studies at the Curtis Institute of Music with Bernard Garfield and Daniel Matsukawa. His former teachers include Kristin Wolfe Jensen, William Lewis, and Eric Stomberg. He is an alumnus of the Spoleto Festival USA and the Music Academy of the West.
