Bassist Nathaniel Chase, a native of Denver, Colorado, has performed as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral player throughout the United States. His performances range from early music as principal bass of the Harvard Baroque, to the standard orchestral repertoire with the New England Conservatory Philharmonia, to contemporary music with Mimesis.

Nathaniel Chase began his conducting career in 2008 as the conductor of the first Composers' Series Orchestra at the New England Conservatory. The performance included the premiere of a suite from Halim El-Dabh's ballet Clytemnestra, written for Martha Graham in 1958.

Nathaniel Chase graduated from the New England Conservatory in 2008, where he studied double bass with Donald Palma of the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. He also studied conducting with Malcolm Peyton and Donald Palma. He is currently a graduate student at the Yale School of Music.
