AARON JOHN BAIRD is currently playing with Ensemble Modern in Frankfurt, Germany. A graduate of the New England Conservatory, where he studied with Donald Palma of the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and Boston University, where he studied with the principal of the Boston Symphony, Edwin Barker, Mr. Baird has attended the Tanglewood, Lucerne (Switzerland), and Music Academy of the West festivals. In May 2006, he was the recipient of the Ester B. Kahn prize for his performance of Jacob Druckman’s "Valentine" for solo double bass. In September of 2007, he participated in the world premiere of Hans Werner Henzes opera, “Phaedra.” He currently plays with the Boston Modern Orchestra Project, appears on the Andover Chamber Music Series and with the North Country Chamber Players, and freelances in New York City and the New England area.
