THE BOTTOM OF THE NIGHT
WED, NOV 1, 2017, 8:00PM
"Follow, poet, follow right
To the bottom of the night,
With your unconstraining voice
Still persuade us to rejoice."
~W.H. Auden, In Memory of W.B. Yeats
This concert turns to our poets, artists and composers for guidance in the journey from grief and tears to a defiant rejoicing. It looks at sorrow directly, and then refuses to let bitterness have the last word. This music opens itself in vulnerability and commits to living life in its fullness.
